Let the silly season begin!!!!

Yes it is that time of the year where the Kirk household goes into overdrive....It is birthday time and first of the rank is my hubby David followed by Katie and all my time apart from going to work has been spent in creating her a fairy party for her and five of her friends from school.....

Though before I get on and show you what has happened in the party arena I did these for a swap with Blue Bazzar. The theme was 3D and this is what I came up with.... Katie is love with them.

And now for what Katie has had done so far for her fairy party....
These are the invites.

This is what the table setting looks like....Yep lots of ironing though I cheated I had the chair covers from a previous party that she had a few years ago.....

And instead of lollies for favours I made little organza bags and filled them with girlie things such as soaps, lotions, bubbles etc...I hope the girls like them.

And last but least happy birthday to my hubby who's birthday is tomorrow. Love ya!!!!

Well that has been my exciting week and a half and I shall keep you posted with what happens in fairy land....Shall be interesting with six little girls sleeping over!!!
Lots of love jen xoxoxox

Some Scrappin' ......

In my time off apart from doing the mum thing as best as one could I had a few sleepless nights and could not get back to sleep so I got up at about 2am every morning and got in and did some scrapbooking.... here are some of the pages I got completed....ontop of the pages that are here which a couple of them are online classes I also got a mini book nearly finished so not to bad for a few nights bad sleep.....

This photo would have to be one of my favs at the moment it is of my dad and Johno at Easter time....

I don't know if I mentioned Ronald McDonald House easter raffle earlier on but Katie got involved in a big way and was asked to go up and draw out the winners and this is her page for her album....I actually scraplifted this off the Tarisota collection - thanks Ngaire xxoxxoxx

I love how this page turned out and it all blended so well with the colouring and all very happy.....

This is Willow at Easter time after the egg hunt in the back yard... She had a fasination with the bright coloured Easter wrappers more so than the chocolate itself

Yep....I am terribly behind with my scrapbooking as this is a photo of my brother and his fiancee Hailey at their engagement BBQ....Love this set of papers they are just yummy.....

Well thats it for now I will have to get in and do the housework wash the car and the list goes on but you get that I suppose. Until next time have heaps of fun and we will catch up again soon Lots of hugs jen xoxoxox

Saturday What a Day!!!!

Wow where has the week really gone... I've had a few days off work and I am due to go back on Sunday for Mothers Day as it will be quite busy so we have made Saturday Mothers Day so we can all catch up....

Usually I am at work when John gets to go to soccer so it was really exciting to get down to the soccer fields and watch him have a game. They have won all their games so far so they are really excited as a team.... Good on you boys!!!!

This is one of the many photos I got taken with my Mum on Mothers day I have just noticed that I have my hair across my face ooopppppsss.....

Before we went to Maccers to catch up with everyone we took Katie into the pet shop to buy a new fish and of course she had to take it in and decided to get a babys highchair to put it in so it was safe...couldn't resist but had to get a photo.....

Terrible news to follow after a great morning and the afternoon fizzing out to be terrrible... just don't ask .... we came home to find that Johno's believed Lennie decided to go to heaven.... We have all shed a tear as Lennie has been in the family forever....three years to be exacted and we are all feeling terrible and David and I are so worried about Johno. He didn't want to sleep in his room and went and slept out in the games room - it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

So on Mothers Day they buried him out in the garden and they laid flowers ontop of him and as a mother to see your two little children do this breaks ones heart.....

Have a great mothers day to all those mums out there I truely hope that you all get spoilt...Lots of hugs jen xoxoxox

Finally ten minutes to catch up alot.....

Well again I am a bit behind in keeping my blog up to date but I have been soooo busy.
The twin boys have finally turned two and I was lucky enough to be invited to their little gathering at home. They are such a delight to be around and oh so funny and the saying double trouble couldn't be any truer....

Then we also got a beautiful visit from out dear friends Jack and Karen. They don't get to visit us that often but when they do we love to catch up.

Katie finally glued her photo's into her mini album... will have to work out what happens next so stay tuned.....

I also got a pick me up as on the day I got to purchase my darling little "Mortisha" I had to go and have a cancerous mole removed from the back of my leg so instead of getting flowers etc... I got a little fish and a frog shaped fish bowl isn't it sooooo cute.....

Whilst walking around with little sleep and a throbbing leg Grandma, Johno and I took Katie to her first swimming lesson and she was so excited to be there which is fantastic....

Well that is all the photos that I can up load in one sitting so now I am going to try and get in a do another entry so for now see ya all soon lots of hugs Jenxxxx

Finally some scrappin'

So even with work, Dad going in for an op, going to a couple of movies, medical appointments for myself and the kids on school hoidays I still got to finish a couple of projects which I am so happy with....so lets have a look shall we

These here are a little booklet which inside house a six cards and envelopes. I really love this little owl stamp and again using basic grey papers....

The front.....

The inside....

As we all know I am addicted to the Tarisota collections - can't help myself. This month I signed up for one of the classes using the kit which was a Ngaire Bartlam class and this is what mine came out like...it is a little Urban Lily slide album which holds hidden photos or journalling if you want....

This project has taken me a while to get finished with work and kids and blah blah blah but extremely happy with the end result. I actually got the little book thing from a previous Tarisota Collection and had no idea what I was going to do with it until Easter sprung upon us and it worked really well. It again is an Urban Lily off the page and I have no idea what they call it but it is really cool and it comes in bits so you can put it together any way you really like. I have used the Bali Breeze papers from my dear friend Lisa Johnston as I love these papers and a few bits and bobs from my never ending stash which is great because it gives me more space to put more LOL!!! I find all the little bits never go very quickly does anyone else find that???

This is the back page and I just love this photo as my little niece Willow couldn't get her hands on enough chocolate so she became the chocolate monster and tried stealing what ever she found it poor Johno's easter bag...

Well that is me up to date how many blogs later I don't know but I do know that it is coffee time and then I best get in and do the ironing sounds like fun...then off to work....have a great day all you lovelies lots of love and hugs jen xoxoxoxoxo

Katie and her mini album

What a busy time it has been in amongst work and all of our other commitments Katie recieved a letter from the Girl Guides head office with her new pen pals name and address. So we have already written to Grace and now she is going to put together a mini album full of things that she has been doing and it will also count for another part of her girl guide badges so she is having a great time learning about our favourite subject scrapbooking... I don't know if we are teaching her something new or giving her a bit of grief but she seems to be enjoying it.
She has also finished her NSW Premier Reading Challenge which has given her the book badge for Girl Guides - yep another one to sew on her sash I must admit it is getting full - next time I will take a photo of that one and post it for you all to see....

The start of her mini album. Using the brayer.....

Picking up the crop-a-dile.....

and sanding those edges for a shabby chic look...next we will have to get our photos in... might get in and do that one tonight if we have time.....

and lucky last photo is of Katie playing her first hockey game for the season. She played last year and towards the end was starting to get the hang of it but this season she went in and gave it a really good go. By the second half she was a little tired and said that she had had enough but went back out and gave it her best... SO PROUD. Her team actually won their match.

Johno had his first soccer match yesterday as well and they also won their game which was great. Shall have photos next week as I am off for a few days so will get alot more photos sorted out.
Here to the next post which will have some scrapbooking would you believe.....
Love jen xoxoxo

Girl Guides ANZAC Day

Katie marched with the Girl Guides this year and it was lovely. It was a traditional serivce which brought back fond memories from when I marched when I was a little girl at school. You were filled with a sense of such pride for such a wonderful country and you felt like you had paid your respects to those that fought for our freedom.
Katie enjoyed it that she has asked to go back out to Kootingal next year to march with the girl guides.

I loved the donkey and the lady....

OK Now for a little quick and easy super treat that puts a spin on the old ANZAC biscuits and trust me they are not as sweet as one would think they are and take no time to make.

These little precious jems are called Carmel Cups

You will need

24 ANZAC biscuits - we used Unibic ANZAC biscuits
1 can of nestle Top 'n' fill caramel
Choc Melts melted

1 Preheat the oven at 150 degrees
2 Microwave biscuits two at a time for 30 seconds on 100% power until soft. Using
the back of a teaspoon mould into cupcake tin.
3 Sppon a small amount of caramel into each case, then place in oven and cook for 10- 12 minutes.
4 Cool on a wire rack and then top with the melted chocolate.

These take about 10 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes cooking time and are a crowd pleaser why not give them a go.....

Have fun jen xxoxoxo

Just a bit more....

Well with the start of the holidays approaching the school had their annual easter hat parade and this will be Katies last year in participating as next year she will be in primary a little sad over that one....
So here are her little girlfriends in all their Easter hat glory....

Grandma came and watched and Katie always gets excited when someone special comes to watch her.....

Then the holidays started and along with that one came "Good Friday" I came home to my darling little munchkins chomping down on lemons don't ask I don't know and can't explain but they must have got a sour one as Katie started to pull faces so for me to be able to get a photo I said lets have a competition the one who pulls that most ugliest face wins... Well we can't really tell but every time we seem to look at these sets of photos we laugh till our sides hurt....

No sooner had Easter been had it become ANZAC day and every year John marches in the main street parade... Katie marched at Kootingal with the Girl Guides (photos in next submission)
They had the jets fly over at a certain time from memory I think that it is 10am when the march first starts....at least this year there was no rain.

Hugs and lots of love jen xoxoxo

Where has the time gone!!!

OK I've been a little busy lately but I will try and catch you all up to speed - the only prob being that this update will have to be done in a few stages as there are so many photos to share with you all and I'm only allowed to do so many photos at a time.
So lets get the show on the road
First of all Kootingal had their annual pumpkin festival and John went out with his good mate Aiden. Dave and I decided to take Katie out and we caught up with the boys having a bit of fun.... of course that involved them stuffing their faces but it was a day out for them.

Then a few weeks later an organiser from the pumpkin festival rang to tell us that John had come equal 1st in the pumpkin bowling and that he had won a prize and he even got his name mentioned in the newspaper.....

Just before school broke up Katie got an invite by Ronald McDonald House of Tamworth to come and draw out the names for the Easter Raffle that Katie and I worked on. So after school we went up and drew the lucky winners out of the bucket and would you believe it she drew out three people that she knew personally one of them being Grandad which when told that he won a prize he said "I can't remember buying a ticket in that one" no but Grandma did....

Pretty flowers who doesn't love flowers but these ones made me cry I was having a really bad day and I've had to go to the doctors and all sorts of things and things were looking rather glum and when I got home from running around this beautiful bunch of flowers were on the door step sent from my darling hubby. When I later said thanks they made me cry he replied "and wouldn't you know I'm not even in trouble" when is he ever in trouble???? So this beautiful picture is yet to be scrapbooked as we have had the kids on school holidays and things are well and truly out of wack...

Well that is it for this post I shall get straight onto the next one as I'm trying to get it all done before I have to get to work .... So hugs and lots of love see ya in the next post jen xoxoxox
